Which Airport?
The nearest airport is Chamberry although flights to this airport are limited. Grenoble is about another 20 minutes but again, there are not that many flights. Lyon and Geneva are larger airports with greater frequency of flights. They are about the same distance away.
Directions by road
From Lyon (St Exuperry airport)
The airport is on the East side of Lyon by about 20km so you don't have to drive through the city, it is all highway.
From the airport initially follow signs to Lyon, after just a couple of km the road splits, follow signs to Chambery/Grenoble.
After about 30km the road splits again, ignore signs to Grenoble and continue to Chamberry [A43] (left fork) there is a peage (toll) on this road €7.40 in a car

From Geneva (Swiss side)
Coming out of the airport follow signs to France. You will drive through Annemasse, follow signs to Annecy, then Albertville

Follow signs to Albertville. There is a peage (road toll) which costs €4.70 in a car when you approach Albertville.

Follow signs to Moutier and Bourg Saint Maurice

As you approach Moutiers you go through a tunnel, after the tunnel remain in LEFT lane sign-post to Aime/Bourg Saint Maurice. Continue on this road towards Bourg Saint Maurice, you will see a distance sign saying 'Bourg Saint Maurice 7km'. The Peisey turn is just after this.
Turn RIGHT at the Peisey turn, sign-post Peisey Nancroix/Peisey Vallandry/Landry.

To Peisey Vallandry
After the turn continue straight on up the mountain through Landry, you go through other villages Peisey Nancroix and Moulin. After about 10 minutes there is a LEFT turn on a bend signposted to Peisey Vallandry, take this. After another 3 minutes or so you enter the village with the Tourist Information on your right.
Turn hard RIGHT after the Tourist Information signposted Plan Peisey, the road takes you behind the building. You will see the Vanoise Express in front of you above the road - you can't miss it even in the dark. Park just before the Vanoise, there are lots of spaces on the right hand side of the road opposite the recycling bins.
On Foot to the Chalet
Cross the road and climb the steps. There is a sign to 'Le Soleil 2', take the path to the right and behind this sign. The chalet is on your left.
Shops
If you want to pick up food on the way there is a very large Carrefour in Chamberry. Take the first turn after the toll signpost Centre Commercial, cross over the main road and turn right. There is a Super-U in Abertville which you can also see from the road (again on the Right).
If you want to shop when you are there you can drive to Bourg Saint Maurice in about 20mins. Stay on the main road through the town and you will see two supermarkets on your left. There are also some large ski-wear shops here.
Airport Transfers
You can get transfers from all airports to Bourg Saint Maurice easily. I don;t have a ot of information on these but I know the Agbus runs frequently from Chamberry
Train
The snow-train from London St Pancras or Ashford takes you right into Bourg Saint Maurice.
Transfers from Bourg Saint Maurice
The chalet is a 25 minute taxi ride from either Bourg Saint Maurice or Aime, there are also transfer buses to Peisey Vallandry from Bourg Saint Maurice
